Pensions and investment provider Aegon has urged the FCA to consider giving financial advisers a bigger role in the Pensions Dashboards to help clients make “better decisions.”

I have to confess I was quite pleased this week when Aegon pension sage Steven Cameron raised an issue that many have neglected: the fairness of the State Pension.

Pension provider Aegon is calling on the Government to consider introducing a more flexible State Pension age and early access to avoid the harm to some people of further “significant” increases in State Pension age up to 74.

A pensions expert has warned that urgent questions need to be answered by the government about where the cash to fund the State Pension will come from following the government’s decision to cut employees’ National Insurance from 10% to 8% from April.
