HMRC is understood to be seeking leave to appeal a ruling which said it has to allow pension tax relief at source on in-specie Sipp contributions.

Dentons Pension Management Limited, one of the UK’s larger providers and administrators of SIPPs, has acquired Sippchoice, a London-based SIPP provider for an undisclosed sum.

Dentons, the Sipp provider, is yet to make a decision on whether it floats on the Aim exchange, FP Today understands.

Sipp specialists say there is still an appetite and a place for non-standard investments, after James Hay banned them for new customers.
