The CISI has created a new head of Financial Planning position to ​boost the profession’s UK growth.

The new post holder's main objective will be to help develop and implement the CISI’s strategy to promote and increase the number of CFP^TM professionals in the UK. The CISI says it would be an advantage if the candidate has CFP^TM (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM) certification or another relevant qualification.

Simon Culhane, Chartered FCSI and CISI CEO, said: “The creation of this new and critical position within our senior management team demonstrates our commitment to grow and represent the Financial Planning community.

“The successful candidate will be expected to have extensive knowledge and experience within the Financial Planning environment, energy and the personal stature to represent the Institute and maintain relationships at senior levels.

"It’s an exciting time to be joining our professional body. The new CISI Head of Financial Planning will be helping to grow and shape financial planning so that it is viewed as an exciting and important career choice but also as an essential, trusted and go-to advisory service for consumers.”

The successful applicant will report to CISI director of global business development Kevin Moore.
