National IFA Continuum, owned by M&G, has recruited two Financial Planners and an IFA from West Country-based Fleming Financial, which was acquired by fast-growing Financial Planning firm Shackleton in December.
Fleming Financial was part of Bishop Fleming LLP with offices in Bristol and Plymouth.
Shackleton, formerly the Skerrits Group, was taken over by New York-based private equity firm Lee Equity Partners in June.
The trio of newcomers to Continuum are Jim Low, Nick Foley and Virgil Higglesden, who bring more than 60 years of combined experience to the Plymouth-based firm.
Jim Low has joined the firm as an independent financial adviser based in Plymouth and will serve clients across Devon and Cornwall. He brings more than 25 years of experience in financial services, with the last 16 years as a financial adviser. He previously spent more than a decade with a regional chartered accountancy firm.
Nick Foley has joined Continuum as a Chartered Financial Planner and is based in Bristol. He has more than 16 years of financial services experience, with the last 13 as a financial adviser, and is a fellow of the Personal Finance Society. Previous roles include 10 years at an IFA firm attached to an accountancy practice, and six years at an advice firm within a pension consultancy.
Virgil Higglesden is a Chartered Financial Planner based in Exeter, who serves clients in the city and across the surrounding Devon area. He has more than 25 years of experience and started his financial advice career in 1999.
Martin Brown, managing partner at Continuum, said: “Jim, Nick and Virgil bring a huge amount of knowledge and experience to the partnership, as well as helping to expand our presence within the South West. The experience they bring from working within an accountancy environment is particularly valuable, and will help clients navigate the latest changes to the UK tax and pensions system with confidence.”
Continuum was established in 2014 by founding partner, Martin Brown, as a national IFA brand. It now holds assets under influence of more than £2.49bn.
