deVere United Kingdom, part of deVere Group, will be recruiting the additional trainees throughout 2016, after taking on five last year.
The aim is to ensure a “solid, varied stream of talent into the organisation”, the firm said.
Mike Coady, managing director of deVere UK, said: “The optimum way to secure our continued success in the future and to nurture the innovation generated from today’s world, is to extract potential from a wide, diverse talent pool. This is where deVere’s apprenticeship programme comes in.”
The apprenticeship programme combines employment and training, allowing apprentices to develop the required technical knowledge, learn key employment skills and show their competence in the working world, he said.
Apprentices will also study for professional industry qualifications as part of the programme.
Mr Coady said: “Throughout the programme, apprentices will develop their skillset, tailored to this industry, and discover what it’s like to work in the exhilarating – and demanding - environment of the international financial services sector.”
“As well as recruiting and developing talent, the apprenticeship programme will enhance the importance, and indeed relevance, of gaining professional qualifications.
“The experience gained from working within the industry whilst studying provides a framework for learning, allowing apprentices to direct their ambition and motivation in order to succeed.”
Apprentices will get a “competitive salary” and support from fully-qualified mentors, managers and consultants, to develop specific job skills.
Mr Coady added apprentices had the opportunity to “turn their existing potential into a long-lasting, fulfilling career.”
