Speaking to Financial Planning Today magazine for Issue 5, Financial Planners, Paraplanners and analysts have bemoaned poor service levels and outdated technology.
Alan Gow DipPFS APP ACSI, co-owner of Argonaut Paraplanning in Reading, wants to see upgrading on basic functionality. He said that some things are currently lacking for example, some platforms can only pay income as a monetary amount or a fixed percentage, rather than being able to pay the natural income from an investment.

Mathew Leech, wrap administrator at Lifetime Financial Management in Barnsley, and Chartered Financial Planner Jo Hague CFPTM, Chartered MCSI, a Paraplanner at Investment for Life in Doncaster, had similar demands.
They both mentioned an online chat facility such as offered by Nucleus and Transact would be helpful - rather than having to wait for responses to emails or make phone calls to find answers.
Mr Leech said that such online communication tools allow planners to see the status of queries/actions and how they are being worked on, instead of having to call customer services for an update.
Radostina Dencheva, Chartered MCSI Investment Analyst and Chartered Wealth Manager at Chadwicks in Norwich, wants tools such as capital gains calculators.
She also wants a single trading facility for open and closed-ended funds and listed instruments would improve significantly the speed and quality of advice and service.
