The Pensions Advice Service has over 370 professionals on their books who give up their time to help the public with pension problems and guidance over pension dispute cases.

Each year they hand out awards to recognise the efforts of their volunteers and it was Sally Hannington who scooped the big prize this time round, as she was presented with the Pensions Advisory Service Adviser of the Year award for 2017.

Ms Hannington previously worked for Aviva for 30 years as an actuary and change support manager, before becoming an adviser with the Pensions Advice Service in 2015.

She was awarded the honor at the House of Lords for her outstanding contribution to the service.

Advisers Brian Tatch and John Wilson were also named Fellows of the Pensions Advisory Service during the ceremony for their long record of outstanding service over a sustained period.

The Pensions Advice Service also took the opportunity to recognise the support for volunteering by the Pensions industry, with volunteers nominating the following employers:

The Pensions Advisory Service has been running for more than 30 years and it reported that it helped more customers than ever last year.
