The day, which will promote the benefits of Financial Planning, will use the hashtag #WFPD and the slogan: “#lifesbetter with a financial plan, with a financial professional and with a Certified Financial Planner professional.” 

The day will be marked here by the CISI during the UK’s own Financial Planning Week.

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment recently urged UK Financial Planners to sign up for Financial Planning Week 2018 which runs from 3 to 10 October and aims to raise the national profile of Financial Planning through a campaign of consumer engagement online and in the media.

The CISI says the annual drive, led by its Certified Financial Planner members, will offer pro-bono guidance surgeries for consumers and highlight the “life-changing” value of professional Financial Planning. The UK campaign will use the hashtag and slogan #PlanWell2LiveWell.

The Financial Planning Standards Board runs the CFP certification around the world outside of the US. The CFP qualification is held by  more than 175,000 Certified Financial Planner professionals globally including about 1,000 in the UK. In the UK CFP certification is run by the CISI.

The Denver-based FPSB launched #WFPD in 2017 as part of the global Financial Planning community’s commitment to increase levels of consumers’ financial literacy and capability and to promote how Financial Planning can help the public to “take control” of their finances.

#WFPD takes place during IOSCO’s World Investor Week (#WIW), which is designed to raise awareness about the importance of investor education and protection.
