Aegon is to merge its Aegon Retirement Choices and Cofunds platforms in the coming weeks in a move which will see the Cofunds brand pensioned off.

The platform sector saw continued rapid growth in the second quarter thanks to inflows from Pension Freedom business and ISA sales, according to analysts.

Bosses working on combining the Cofunds and Aegon platforms say their ambition is to create the “most user friendly experience” in the market.
