CPI inflation continues upward spike


The CPI (Consumer Prices Index) measure of inflation jumped to 2.5% in June from 2.1% in May.

Average earnings rise 5.6%

Average earnings rose 5.6% for the three months from February to April 2021 according to the latest labour market report from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).


Inflation doubles in a month to 1.5%

Rising transport, clothing and energy costs spurred a surprise doubling of CPI inflation from 0.7% in March to 1.5% in April.
