Intergenerational wealth inequality has been branded “staggering”, after new figures from the Office for National Statistics were released.

More than half of pensioners are now classed as “top earners”, new data has shown.

The Government today announced that CPI inflation had fallen to 2.7% from 3%.

Inflation has leapt up to its highest level for three and a half years, reaching 2.3% in February.
