Savings and retirement provider Phoenix Group is to acquire closed-book UK life insurer Sun Life UK in a deal worth £248m.

A third of over 50s say they do not think they have enough money to provide them with sufficient income for their retirement.

People over 50 with 12 months left to live would prioritise arranging their funeral and spending time with family and friends while the under-50s would go on a cruise.
