Four out of five adults believe that financial education should be taught in schools but only around one in eight parents said that their child has received it, according to a new study.

The Money and Pension Service (MAPS) has developed new guidance for schools to encourage conversations about money in the classroom.

The Personal Finance Society is urging its near 40,000 members to take part in part in Talk Money Week this week, an annual campaign get consumers to talk about money matters with their family.

A survey carried out for Talk Money Week, which launches today, has found that half of parents struggle to talk about money with their children.
