The aim of the newly-appointed Commission is to report on professional standards and the culture of the UK banking sector and the lessons to be learned about transparency, conflicts of interest. It will also assess their implications for regulation and Government policy.
The Commission members are:

Andrew Tyrie, chair of the Commission and chair of the Treasury Select Committee, said: "Recent scandals have shown how much we need higher standards in banking. The Committee's work will contribute to that.
"In doing so, it will also support the hundreds of thousands of people working honestly and for the benefit of their customers in the financial services industry whose reputations have been unfairly impugned by the actions of a few.
"The perpetrators of wrongdoing should be held fully
accountable for their actions."
The group will have to report back to Parliament by 18 December, before the Banking Reform Bill is published.
