Two thirds of advisers surveyed by Dynamic Planner said they saw an increase in new client enquiries through the Coronavirus pandemic, with 65% of firms having seen new client enquiries grow.

The majority of advisers surveyed said they expected to retain hybrid working models, with over three quarters of advisers working either hybrid or fully remotely.

Only a quarter (23%) of those surveyed had returned to a majority face-to-face model.

Over two thirds (69%) of advice firms had retained hybrid working models.

Almost nine in ten (88%) advisers surveyed said technology was improving their ability to serve clients.

The advisers were very positive about the future of Financial Planning, with 57% expecting their businesses to continue to grow and only 4% seeing client numbers reducing over the past three years.

Those surveyed were also happy with their career choice, with 87% saying they would recommend Financial Planning as a career. This rose to 94% for advisers over 65.

Yasmina Siadatan, sales and marketing director at Dynamic Planner, said: “The productivity dividend that came from the pandemic looks to be here to stay. Hybrid working models remain in place and, as a result, advisers are looking after increasing numbers of clients.

“What was gained from this once-in-a generation technological advance cannot be underestimated, it is enabling Financial Planning to be accessed by more people than ever.”

Regulation and the new Consumer Duty were the biggest headaches complained about by the advisers surveyed, especially for sole traders and small firms.

Advisers said they were spending more time on compliance and administration.
