The companies say that the move will save time for financial advisers who use both services as they will be able to invest in the FE Select Portfolios in one step, rather than selecting the component funds individually.

The FE Select Portfolios are a suite of 15 risk-rated model portfolios designed for advisers seeking to outsource fund selection and portfolio construction. However, unlike other model portfolios, they are not pre-packaged pooled funds.

To allow advisers autonomy, FE instead publishes recommended asset allocations and fund selections for investors with different risk appetites to achieve optimal diversification and risk-adjusted returns. Financial advisers can then replicate these recommendations or adjust them to meet individual circumstances. The agreement with Transact provides an efficient mechanism for advisers who decide to emulate the FE Select Portfolios exactly.
