A senior director at The Pensions Regulator has called on pension holders to be more vigilant to combat increasingly "clever and devious" scammers.

AMPS, the trade association which represents most UK SIPP providers, has written to the FSCS to question its statements on three SIPP providers recently declared in default by the scheme.

In its response to the pension scams consultation, the Association of Member-Directed Pension Schemes (AMPS) has rejected a call to outlaw SSAS schemes and says it is “stunned” the idea has been proposed.
