Aviva unveils new RDR-ready share classes
Aviva Investors has announced changes to the share classes offered on its funds in order to meet the changing needs of advisers post-RDR.
For advised and direct business, the firm has discounted initial charges on all its onshore OEIC funds.
It has also created share classes which are free from trail commission for those advisers who deal directly with the business. These funds include the Aviva Investors UK Equity Income fund, the Aviva Investors Multi-Asset fund range and the Aviva Investors Property Trust.
For business conducted via fund platforms and large institutional investors, the firm has made a range of commission-free share classes with an annual management charge of 0.15 per cent and one per cent.

The firm has also launched an 'R' share class on four of its most popular offshore funds. This share class will be free from commission and be available on the Aviva Investors Global High Yield fund, UK Equity Focus fund, Global Convertibles fund and Emerging Markets Local Currency Bond fund. It may be extended to other funds if there is sufficient demand.
Jeremy Leadsom, sales director for UK financial institutions at Aviva Investors, said: "The RDR is bringing about a shift in the priorities of investors and their advisers. We have been engaging with UK intermediaries and responding to their changing needs and one of the steps we have taken is to review and adapt our share class and pricing models to meet the new environment for fee structures."
