Ten of the twenty most viewed investment trusts on the Association of Investment Companies (AIC) website in 2025 were from the equity income sectors.
Five of these were focused on UK equity income, four on global equity income, and one on Asia Pacific equity income, according to data released by the AIC.
There were also two high yielding trusts from the infrastructure sectors and one debt trust.
The average yield of the 20 most viewed trusts was 4.2%, compared to 3.2% for the average investment trust.
Half of the twenty most viewed trusts had increased their dividends for at least 20 years in a row.
Annabel Brodie-Smith, communications director of the Association of Investment Companies, said: “As interest rates come down it’s no surprise that investors are seeking investment trusts with long track records of dividend growth to meet their income needs. Although dividends are never guaranteed, one of the many benefits of investment trusts is their ability to pay dividend income to investors even during tough times.”
