Evelyn Partners has expanded the availability of its Model Portfolio Service (MPS), with its Core and Index ranges now accessible through onshore bond wrappers across a number of adviser platforms.
The firm said the move gives financial advisers greater flexibility when constructing investment solutions for clients.
It said some clients may benefit from holding investments within an onshore investment bond structure, while retaining access to Evelyn Partners' professionally managed MPS strategies.
The firm's Core and Index MPS ranges are now available through onshore bond wrappers on:
• AJ Bell (Countrywide Assured bond wrapper)
• Aviva
• M&G (Chesnara Life bond wrapper)
• Quilter
• Transact
Evelyn said the launch broadens the range of tax wrappers available to advisers using Evelyn Partners' MPS proposition and responds to growing demand for investment solutions that can support a wide variety of client planning needs. Matthew Spencer, head of intermediaries at Evelyn Partners, said: “Advisers increasingly want the flexibility to combine professionally managed investment portfolios with wrappers that support specific tax planning and financial planning objectives.
“By making our Core and Index MPS ranges available through onshore bonds across a number of major platforms, we are giving advisers more choice in how they deliver investment solutions for clients.”
He said onshore investment bonds can offer a number of potential benefits depending on an individual's circumstances. They can include tax-deferred withdrawals of up to 5% of the original investment each year, the ability to assign policies without triggering an immediate chargeable event in certain circumstances, and opportunities for tax-efficient planning where clients may be basic-rate taxpayers in retirement or at the point gains are realised.
He added that the structure can also provide administrative simplicity, particularly for clients who have fully utilised pensions and ISA allowances, while offering access to a broad range of underlying investments.
