The Saracens women's rugby team
Wealth manager Evelyn Partners has become the first official wealth management partner of Saracens Rugby Club.
The wealth manager has signed a three year deal with the famous Rugby club.
As part of the deal, the wealth manager will provide a bespoke financial education and coaching programme for Saracens’ professional male and female players to improve their financial prospects and retirement outcomes.
Evelyn Partners will also provide a second career pathway into the financial services industry for players retiring from the sport.
The wealth manager said that players “not only understand what it takes to compete at an elite level but can also leverage their extensive network of contacts, and credibility in the game, to enable a successful career in wealth management.”
Evelyn added that its financial and career guidance will also support its manager’s wider mission to improve the advice gap for women.
Andrew Middleton, chief marketing and commercial officer at Evelyn Partners, said: “Saracens is such a natural partner for us. It’s a club that is constantly looking forward, driving performance, whilst at the same time conscious of the opportunity the club has to accelerate societal change.
“Through this partnership, Evelyn Partners will provide financial education and coaching to both men’s and women’s teams, helping players consider life beyond rugby. With equal focus on both teams, this partnership gives us another platform to highlight and address the female wealth advice gap. We’re also excited to be able to open up unique, behind the scenes experiences for our clients to shine a light on life within an elite sporting environment."
The partnership with Saracens is just one of several Evelyn Partners has formed with sporting clubs in recent months.
Earlier this month the wealth manager entered a similar three-year deal as an official partner of the Netball Super League. Similar to the deal with Saracens, it will also offer financial education and advice as well as a career gateway for retiring players.
Evelyn Partners has offices across 25 towns and cities in the UK, as well as the Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands. It also owns online investment platform Bestinvest. The firm had £61.9bn in assets under management and advice at 31 March.
