The Association of British Insurers has warned the public to put the phone down on cold-callers passing themselves off as the ABI.

The long-awaited ban on pensions cold calling may come into effect this year as early as June after the government committed to legislation to introduce the measure.

Pension scams come in many guises and cold calling is just one unwelcome activity that can easily target the vulnerable and lonely. 

The Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association, the 1,300-member pension scheme trade association, has urged the government to speed up the implementation of its planned ban on pensions cold calling.
