The Institute of Financial Planning held its South West conference in Bristol yesterday.
The event, held at the Bristol Hilton and attended by 60 people, was themed around ‘maximising your assets for business success’.
Speakers at the conference included Michael Tipper, Brett Davidson from FP Advance and Saran Allot Davey CFPCM from Heron House Financial Management.
Sue Whitbread, communications director at the IFP, said: “It went extremely well, we’ve had very very good feedback and delegates were very engaged with lots of comments from the audience.”
Topics covered ranged from building an investment process to increasing productivity and profitability within firms.
Delegates particularly enjoyed a session from Duncan Steel from Sales Training IQ on thinking styles, which looked at how Financial Planners can assess which styles of thinking their clients are likely to adopt.
The keynote speaker at the end of the day was explorer Alan Chambers MBE.
Sue Whitbread said: “He was awe-inspiring, people came out the room moved by what they had heard. It was a very fitting way to end the day.”
Opening and closing the conference was IFP chief executive Nick Cann.
The conference was worth 8.5 CPD points.
The day was followed by an informal dinner and drinks which was the first time a dinner had been held at the Bristol conference.
A best practice workshop is being held for IFP members today with sessions from Phil Billingham CFPCM from Threesixty and Abbie Tanner from A Business Innovation.
