Pensions technology provider iPipeline has today completed the acquisition of industry collaboration fintech Origo following approval from the UK Competition and Markets Authority.
The firm said the acquisition for an undisclosed amount expands its presence in the UK wealth and retirement market.
Anthony Rafferty, chief executive officer of Origo, said: "Origo has always focused on making it easier for firms to connect and work together. Joining iPipeline allows us to build on that mission while maintaining the transparent, collaborative approach our customers value.”
He said the combined firms “have an opportunity to strengthen the services our customers rely on today while helping drive greater efficiency and innovation across the industry.”
Pat O'Donnell, chief executive officer of iPipeline, said: "As financial services organisations face growing pressure to modernise operations and deliver seamless customer experiences, the ability to connect people, processes and information has become increasingly important.
“Origo's expertise in trusted connectivity aligns closely with iPipeline's strengths - enhancing our ability to help customers reduce complexity, improve collaboration and operate more effectively.”
The two businesses said customers should expect continuity throughout the transition. They said all services and solutions will remain available, connected and partner-friendly, with continued investment focused on helping firms simplify operations and strengthen collaboration across financial services.
Origo is a financial services focused technology company which claims to handle around 95% of personal pension transfers in the market via its Origo Transfer Service. Launched in 2008, the Origo Transfer Service handled 1.5m transfers, with more than £66bn of customer assets, during 2024.
Origo launched whole-of-market provider coverage for its Unipass Letter of Authority (ULoA) technology last year. The service gives advisers a single method for sending all LoA requests to any UK platform and product provider for free.
The Origo and Unipass brands will continue as an iPipeline company.
