Flora Maudsley-Barton, of Altrincham-based Parsonage Financial Planning, was speaking in an exclusive interview in the latest issue of Financial Planning Today magazine.
Speaking about Parsonage’s services she said: “We offer assistance with a range of financial areas including investments, pensions, tax, mortgages and insurance to name a few.
“Headed by myself, our clients span the North West, especially Manchester, Liverpool and Chester, plus London and the Oxfordshire area.
“We offer a complimentary initial meeting and our fixed-fee service marks us as different to many other firms - it may still be unique, I’m not sure but I review the market from time to time.
“We publish all our fees in our brochure available on the website and they range from £799 for a ‘First Look’ report to £900 per person for a Lifetime Cashflow Plan including a Financial Plan.
“We also advise on transfers and have more specialist advice and hourly fees running up to £210 available too.
“We act mostly for individuals, to make the best of their finances, from those looking to build wealth, protect existing assets or successfully plan for the next generation.
“Parsonage Financial Planning holds Chartered Financial Planner Status, which is the gold-standard for independent financial advice in my view.
“We were established as independent advisers in 2009 and we became Chartered in 2012.
“Our other directors are Malcolm Wallace (IFA) and Sean Maudsley-Barton.”
Ms Maudsley-Barton said she set up the firm with a desire to “do things differently” back in 2008 and says she focusses on creating “a real family-feel.”
She added: “My vision for Parsonage Financial Planning was always to retain the close-knit, personable element the firm is so well known for and this is really important to think about when considering our long-terms goals and the company’s future.”
Asked how she looks after clients and maintains loyalty, she said: “At Parsonage Financial Planning, we ultimately keep trying to get better than we were yesterday and we’re responsive to improve and adapt our services and offering depending on demand, for example, fixed-fee services.
“Our approach is personable and bespoke to each individual customer who comes to us.
“Many of our customers refer their friends and families, including adult children to us, so there’s often a real family-feel to what we’re doing and our approach to Financial Planning.”
