AAF Financial Planning Europe, a new specialist firm focused on British expatriates in Europe, has launched today.
The Dublin-based business said it was targeting the estimated 1m British citizens living across Europe, who have created increased demand for specialist cross-border Financial Planning.
The new firm said it would specialise in helping clients navigate complex cross-border tax and residency rules, structure investments efficiently across jurisdictions, plan for retirement in Europe, including relocation from the UK and the Middle East, and protect, preserve and transfer wealth across borders.
The firm's team has decades of expertise spanning international Financial Planning, expatriate taxation, private banking and wealth management.
Staff at the new business have held senior positions at organisations including Lloyds International, Nedbank, The Fry Group and The Arlo Group, while also offering specialist expatriate tax advisory services through ATC Tax.
Finn Houlihan, managing director, worked in wealth management at RBS Private Bank before moving to The Fry Group where he was responsible for the Middle East and Spain.
He said: "Too often, pensions, investments, estate planning and taxation are treated as separate disciplines. For expatriates living internationally, these areas are deeply interconnected.
“Our approach is designed to bring them together into a single, coherent strategy that reflects the realities of cross-border living."
The firm has two private client directors, including Abergavenny-based IFA John Phillips, who has worked in financial services for 27 years.
The other private client director is Paul Uings, who previously worked at wealth managers Arlo Group and Harrison Rowe but also spent two years as a senior Financial Planner at Guardian Wealth Management in the UAE.
