Former Olympic and Commonwealth boxer Delicious Orie has joined cross-border Financial Planning specialist Skybound Wealth as a private wealth adviser within its athletes & creators division.
He represented Team GB at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, won super-heavyweight gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and 2023 European Games and turned professional as a boxer in 2025, only to retire after winning his only pro bout.
He told the BBC: "I turned pro for the money, I needed the money, only to realise that money gives you a little bit of happiness, it really does, but it gives you zero fulfilment."
After his retirement from boxing at 28, he began his Financial Planning career at Attivo where he completed the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
He has also passed the Chartered Insurance Institute’s AF4 Investment Planning examination, adding advanced knowledge of investment risk and portfolio planning.

Mr Orie said: “Competing at the highest level taught me how quickly priorities can change. Financial Planning gives me a way to help people prepare for those changes.
“My role is to understand what a client wants from their future, then bring their income, investments and commitments into a plan they can act on. I can combine my professional knowledge with an understanding of the sporting careers many of our clients have lived.”
At Skybound he joins advisers including former professional footballer Jamie Proctor and former Scotland international footballer Christophe Berra, whose professional qualifications are also complemented by experience of elite sport.
