The FCA has this week stripped permission to carry out regulated business from a Shropshire-based claims management company called Claimpoint Ltd (FRN 830722).
The decision to revoke the Telford-based firm’s Part 4A permissions means it can no longer carry out regulated business.
The FCA said it had made the decision yesterday (14 August) because it considered that the firm was carrying on no regulated activity to which the firm’s Part 4A permission relates.
The firm was authorised by the FCA on 5 May 2020 and had a Part 4A permission to conduct regulated activities in relation to claims management.
Specifically it was allowed to seek out, claims or potential claims including personal injury claims; financial services or financial product claims; housing disrepair claims; claims for a specified benefit; criminal injury claim; and employment related claims.
It traded under the name Call Brian, according to the FCA Register.
The business Call Brian was incorporated in March 2019, according to Companies House records.
The only person connected with the firm, according to the Register, was Anthony Frederick Sullman, who is listed as chief executive of the firm on Companies House.
The FCA said the firm failed to pay periodic fees and levies owed to the regulator as required under the rules. It said in particular, the firm failed to pay an invoice dated 20 August 2024 for periodic fees and levies of £627.00 which had been due for payment by 19 September 2024.
In June the FCA wrote to the firm warning it may take action to cancel the firm’s Part 4A permission unless it responded to the notice.
The firm failed to respond to the notice so in July the FCA warned the firm it proposed to cancel its Part 4A permission on 14 August unless the firm took appropriate steps. The firm failed to take the steps so its Part 4A permission was cancelled.
At the end of July the FCA stripped permission to carry out regulated business from a West Yorkshire-based claims management company called Fair Return Legal Services Limited (FRN 838208).
