South west Financial Planner and accountancy firm Old Mill has been acquired by accountancy, wealth management and legal advisory business Kinbrook Group for an undisclosed amount.

Old Mil's outsourced finance division, Brook Financial, is also part of the deal which will see Old Mill become the group’s anchor in the South West.

Both Old Mill and Brook Financial will continue to operate under their brands, maintaining leadership, client relationships and team structures, Kinbrook said.

Kinbrook said the deal will mean that as part of Kinbrook the firms will benefit from national infrastructure, shared innovation, group-wide collaboration, and access to broader expertise.

Old Mill was founded in the 1920s and is based in the west country with five offices in Exeter, Yeovil, Wells, Chippenham, and Ilminster. The firm has 385 staff serving more than 5,000 clients.

The business offers a full spectrum of services spanning accountancy, tax, wealth management, and business advisory, while Brook Financial provides specialist outsourced finance and payroll solutions.

It has already set up regional hubs include Duncan & Toplis, which has locations in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and London, and City-based Beavis Morgan Group and its related businesses including Moorfields Advisory, which has office in London, Manchester, Crawley, Preston and Worthing. The two hubs have 19 offices across the UK and adding Old Mill extends the group’s reach to 24.
