A jury at Southwark Crown Court has today found guilty David Ames, 70, one of the key figures behind the extensive £226m Harlequin fraud which conned many pension investors.

A former financial adviser who used multiple aliases has been jailed for fraud for the second time after pleading guilty to four counts of fraud at Leicester Crown Court.

Scam enquiries to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) surged by a third between April and September 2021.
