Ten years after the start of auto-enrolment, more than 10.7m employees have enrolled into workplace pension schemes, according to recent statistics from The Pensions Regulator.

The Association for British Insurers (ABI) has called for a gradual increase to the minimum contribution rates under auto enrolment from 8% to 12%.

The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has reported a 50% surge in its use of enforcement powers during the final quarter of 2020.

Figures from the Office of National Statistics showed that 19% of UK workers are unaware of auto-enrolment into a workplace pension scheme.
