CPI inflation reversed its recent downward trend in June with an increase to 0.6% from 0.5% in May due mainly to increased recreation and culture costs.

The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month inflation rate fell significantly to 0.5% in May - the lowest rate for four years.

CPI inflation fell in April to 0.8% from 1.5% in March, driven down mainly by falling fuel and energy costs.

CPI inflation, the government’s main measure of inflation, fell from 1.7% in February to 1.5% in March, ONS reported today.
